The story of this house can be traced back to 1812, when the building was part of the Pembroke Estate. The cottages in that area belonged to beaver hat maker families, who shared their houses amongst themselves and allowed the neighbouring families to use their facilities to wash their clothes.
Signature Windows & Doors was invited by the client Homeland Projects to manufacture and install bespoke traditional wood windows and doors to the conservation area of Bolton Hall in Bolton Park. The task at hand was to assist the client in developing these old buildings into unique modern homes whilst retaining the historic architectural design and ensuring luxury comfort for the future homeowners.
The dream family house in a very sought-after area in the heart of Dublin had one major problem with its poorly installed PVC windows: the draught coming into the house made the rooms extremely uncomfortable. The key objective was to increase thermal comfort and to achieve the perfect design and colour to the new windows. Another challenge was to adjust the shape of the bay windows so they would perfectly fit into the existing frames.
