Light-Filled 1980s Estate Home | Timber Windows & Doors

Light-Filled 1980s Estate Home Receives A Full Renovation
This Clontarf home refurbishment was designed by BRENNAN | FURLONG Architects & Urban Planner. The internal layout has been re-worked as two primary spaces approached and separated by two timber-lined vestibules.
Signature was specified by the client to deliver a wide range of timber window and door solutions to aid in the transformation of this 1980s estate home. The goal was to maximise natural light within the space while maintaining a beautiful slim profile and flush window appearance.
Maximising Natural Light With Oversize Timber Windows & Doors
The timber Lift & Slide Patio door to the rear of the home reaches an immense size of 2.75M high by 2.5M wide which allows a generous amount of natural light to fill the living spaces with warmth. The client opted for oversized windows and doors as “You get that real indoor/outdoor connection”.
The 2.55M high Tilt & Turn Window in the kitchen offers the flexibility of ventilation and also access to the garden when fully opened. The Casement Windows are fitted with ball end hardware, adding a unique traditional feel to the interior.
Even though the interior timber on all the windows and doors is painted white, the subtle yet visible natural wood texture still imparts a feeling of warmth and complements the interior timber joinery.
